VISUAL STYLE & INFLUENCES
"I was quite influenced when it came to writing the script with the story I had in mind. When I think of films which conveyed that prospective of dimension, an episode called Gotcha (1988) from the American TV series The Ray Bradbury Theater, pops in my mind. The events that take place in this short film start off when two strangers Alicia and John attend the same costume party as singles. From then on they start a romantic relationship. Things turn weird when Alicia takes John to a fleabag hotel promising John to play the Gotcha game. It is plain to see how in a room one of them can travel from one space to another using one's mental resources.
However, when it comes to the mise en scène and the behaviour of the characters I want for this particular short film, I resort to selected scenes in the films L’eclisse (1962) by Michaelangelo Antonioni, Lost Highway (1997) and Mulholland Drive (2001) by David Lynch, Permanent Vacation (1980) and Coffee and Cigarettes (2003) by Jim Jarmusch. All of them present simple but powerful atmospheres and spaces in which special and strong characters present awkward situations, which leaves the viewer to ponder on things after the credits roll down the screen. And that’s exactly what I want to achieve: make the viewer travel through the unconscious mind of the characters in the same spaces and images they're faced with."

It deals with the three types of thinking any person has or experiences: conscious, unconscious and dreams. Human beings live three different lives: the one in our mind, the one in our dreams, and finally the one in the real world we share with the people we are surrounded by. A, the main character of the film, mixes up and carries with her the feelings she experiences from the situations she lives from one life to another: from one space to another. The same applies to the people she meets in one life, she brings them to another one creating circumstances she would never share with them in the real world.
